The Upper East Region has recorded three more cases of the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total number of cases in the region to 4.
The new cases were recorded after samples from 44 close contacts of the first COVID-19 positive case reported on April 3, 2020.
Out of the 44 close contacts’ samples sent to the Kumasi Centre for Collaborative Research in Tropical Medicine (KCCR), three of them returned positive.
A statement signed by the Regional Director of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) ,Dr Winfred Ofosu, said all the three confirmed cases have been in self-isolation since.
It added that contact tracing has also been initiated to identify all close contacts of the new cases for quarantine.
