A lone goal from big game expect Daniel Afriyie Barnieh ensured  the Black Galaxies progressed to the final round of the 22 CHAN Qualifiers.

Ghana went into the leg 2 against the Squirrels of Benin with a 3-0 advantage after dispatching their opponents in Cape Coast.

Trailing 3-0 from the 1 leg, the Squirrels showed desire in the opening stages of the match seeking to upset the Black Galaxies but the calm Ghana defence was up to the task as they curtailed the onslaught that was thrown at them.

Barnieh struck the winning goal in the 82nd minute to send Ghana to face archrivals Nigeria for one of the slots from West Africa Zone B for the Championship of African Nations (CHAN) tournament in Algeria in 2023.

Ghana are two-time silver medalist after reaching the final in the maiden edition in 2009 and in 2014.
