The 2024 Amputee Africa Cup of Nations saw Ghana’s Black Challenge squad win 2-1 over Morocco in the championship final match held in Cairo.
In spite of the early deficit, Mohammed Mubarak scored a penalty to tie the game.
There was a lot of end-to-end action in the game, and Ghana’s goalie had to make big stops to keep the score tied.
The game went into extra time because there was a tie score at the end of regular. Ghana took the lead for the first time in the extra period thanks to a goal from Mubarak. With a fierce defense of this lead, the Black Challenge eventually prevailed.
Ghana won the previous tournament in Tanzania, therefore their victory not only certifies their participation in the Panama-hosted World Amputee Football World Cup in 2026, but also marks their successful defense of the championship.
