On June 8, Hasaacas Ladies and Ampem Darkoa Ladies will square off in the 2023–24 Ghana Women’s Premier League playoff final.
To guarantee a fourth straight meeting in the women’s league final, both teams have to win the league title in their respective zones.
After defeating Faith Ladies 3-0 on Sunday, the Hasmal Ladies won the Southern Zone championship for the ninth time.
On the last day, the four-time Premier League champions had to win to avoid losing, and they did so thanks to goals from Mukarama Abdulai twice and Belinda Ofori in the second half.
Conversely, Ampem Darkoa Ladies had already secured the Northern Zone title heading into the last day of the league season.
On the last day of the season, Nana Joe Adarkwa’s team lost to Kumasi Sports Academy 1-0.
The game’s lone goal, scored by Theresah Darko in the 33rd minute, gave Kumasi Sports Academy the victory over the defending champions at home.
Hasaacas and Ampem Darkoa will now compete in the final to determine the overall 2023–24 season winner after winning the Southern and Northern Zones.
The University of Ghana Stadium will host the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League final on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Ghana will be represented by the match winner in the August WAFU Zone B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers.
The last two times the two teams faced off in the championship, Ampem Darkoa Ladies prevailed.
