Ghana’s Alex Amankwah was disqualified in the men’s 800m heat at the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Oregon.
The 25-year-old was disqualified for a lane violation halfway through the race.
The Ghanaian had finished in 4th with a time of 1:45.92 before the review was conducted.
The decision to disqualify Amankwah was contested but was rejected.
He’s Ghana’s national record holder in the 800m event with a time of 1:44.80 which he set in 2017.
