The Ghana Football Association has announced the date for the commencement of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season.

The announcement follows approval of the plan for the 2022-23 football season by the Executive Council of the
Ghana Football Association.

According to the GFA, 2022/2023 season of the Ghana Premier League will start on the weekend of September 9 to September 12, 2022, across all nine Premier League match Stadia.

They added that 2022/23 league fixtures for the upcoming season is scheduled to be released by Tuesday, July 26, 2022 to enable GPL clubs prepare adequately for the season.

The GFA further scheduled September 4, 2022 as the date for the Champion of Champions to be honored by the 2021/22 GPL winners Kumasi Asante Kotoko and the winner of the upcoming MTN FA Cup between Bechem Utd and Accra Hearts of Oak.

The GFA also explained that the 2022/2023 GPL calendar will make room for a break in November and December 2022 for FIFA World Cup in Qatar as required by FIFA for all qualified Member Association.
