2021/2022 Women’s Juvenile League set to start soon

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved a new policy for the Regional Football Associations to commence the Women’s Juvenile League in the coming 2021/22 season. The decision is in line with the GFA’s player development pathway for the women’s game.

The Association currently have the Women’s Premier League and the Women’s FA Cup managed at the national level and the Regional Division One League administered at the Regional Football Association level.

The Juvenile League is seen as a pathway for bringing more girls into the game.

It will be recalled that the Ghana Football Association through its partnership with the UEFA Assist programme 30 U-15 Girls Coaches for the 10 football Regions.

The Association will continue to encourage more women and girls into football administration including but not limited to female coaches, female players, female administrators, and female medics.

Currently the entire Women’s Premier League and Women’s FA Cup matches are officiated by Women Referees trained by Women Instructors.

The GFA will continue to advance the frontiers of the Women’s game in line with the FIFA strategy to accept parity between men and women football.
