EXIMBANK Ghana has approved a sum of over 14 Million cedis to Casa De ROPA Company limited, to establish raw material base to reduce the importation of flour and sugar and also help reduce the high level of unemployment in the country.
Casa DE ROPA Company Limited is an agro-processing company that uses raw materials such as Orange -Fleshed -Sweet -Potato, to produce products like bread, biscuits, chips, noodles, pizza, and meat pie.
Speaking to the media, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EXIMBANK, Mr Lawrence Agyinsam revealed that EXIMBANK is the main and principal bank supporting the government’s One District One Factory Project.
He said the Board of EXIMBANK has approved 84 projects across various sectors and regions with the total loans approved so far amounting to 1. billion cedis.
He noted that EXIMBANK is into Poultry, Pharmaceuticals, Cashew, and Cocoa powder production with the aim of reducing the high level of importation of these products.
A year after the disbursement of the 14 Million cedis to CASA DE ROPA, EXIMBANK visited the site to inspect the work done so far. CASA DE ROPA is Located at Bewadze, Gomoa West District of the Central Region.
The Chairman of the Credit and Investment Committee of EXIMBANK, Nana Dr Appiah-Agyei Dankawso I, said the purpose of the visit is for the team to be abreast with the extent of work done so far.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CASA DE ROPA, Ebenezer Obeng-Baffoe expressed excitement about how with the help of the EXIMBANK CASA DE ROPA has grown.
Touching on expenses made he said the money received from the EXIM Bank has been put to good use. The company has acquired the needed equipment for their production
Mr Obeng-Baffoe said work is almost done, noting that the products they will produce will be competitive.
